Privacy Policy

Overview

Kenar (“we”, “us”) is a read-later app that saves links you choose and analyzes page content to produce summaries, categories, and tags. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.

Information we collect

• Account information — email address, display name, and authentication data when you sign up with email or Sign in with Apple.
• User content — URLs and titles you save, plus extracted page text stored so we can analyze bookmarks.
• Derived data — AI-generated summaries, categories, tags, reading-time estimates, and reading status (read/unread).
• Technical data — basic server logs needed to operate the service (for example request timing and error records).

How we use information

• To create and secure your account
• To save, sync, and display your bookmarks across devices
• To run AI analysis on saved pages (summary, category, tags, takeaways)
• To personalize Discover suggestions based on your library
• To improve reliability and prevent abuse

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your content for third-party advertising.

AI processing

Page text may be sent to AI providers we configure (for example OpenAI or Anthropic) solely to generate analysis for your bookmarks. API keys stay on our servers. Providers process data under their terms as our processors.

Sign in with Apple

If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive an Apple user identifier and any name/email Apple shares with us. You can hide your email via Apple’s Hide My Email feature.

Retention & deletion

We keep account and bookmark data while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at the email below. We may retain limited logs for security and legal compliance for a short period.

Data security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Access to production systems is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Children

Kenar is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
